Core Industries
Jenks & Cattell have supplied the automotive industry for over 70 years, and over time, this has developed into off-highway, truck, bus and most recently EV. Exemplary components supplied into these markets include bracketry systems, wire harnessing, battery trays and components for electric powertrains. Although one of our biggest strengths, we are more diverse than just automotive, supplying into Defence, Marine, Construction and Medical sectors also.
Metal Stamping
Our coil-fed progression, single operation and transfer line presses can produce up to 5,000 metal components an hour. We provide mid to high-volume metal stamping utilising over 30 power presses ranging from 80 to 1,000 tonnes. Jenks & Cattell can feed coil up 1M wide. We currently process Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Aluminium, Brass and Copper through our press shop.
Welding
Our Wolverhampton site is equipped with six robot welders operated by our team of SAFed /CEOC International-approved manual welders to offer our customers a wide range of welding services. Our capabilities also include spot welding, projection welding, manual welding, and Aluminium TIG welding. Welds are checked in our in-house macro weld facility.
Laser Fabrication
Our two top-of-the-range Trumpf flatbed laser provides laser cutting with superior edge quality, fabrication and sheet metal forming services. This pathway is cost-effective on low volume production and ideal for sheet metal prototypes. Our laser can cut mild steel stainless steel and aluminium. We also have two Press Brakes on site to support this area.
Mechanical assembly
To save time on your production we offer mechanical assembly including nut insertion, springs and clips, label application, toxing, riveting, pipe clips, plastic components, and insulation.
Press Tools
Our long-term relationship with our Chinese suppliers gives our customers up to 30% cost savings compared with the UK and EU-sourced tools, however, we can procure UK tools if required. To ensure quality and longevity, each tool has a robust TPM program, dealt with by our in-house tool maintenance shop. Our press tools allow us to provide thousands of consistent identical components with precision.
Surface finishing
Although Jenks & Cattell do not have their own paint facility, we have a long-standing network of local suppliers to support finishing to customer specifications as a sub-contract operation.

Our engineering teams work closely with all customers from initial quotation right through delivery. We are dedicated to obtaining the most efficient manufacturing method for our customers, both in time and cost. Our proactive team generates ideas for less material wastage, recycling, lean manufacturing methods and excellent delivery performance.
