Apprenticeships at Jenks and Cattell

Last week England has celebrated National Apprenticeship Week, even though the event has come to an end, Jenks and Cattell are extremely proud of the apprentice scheme at our Wolverhampton plant no matter the time.

We have worked alongside Wolverhampton City College for over 10 years and invested in many apprentices to become full-time skilled employees who are now some of our most valuable staff.

Last year we have offered apprentice schemes in 5 different positions such as:

  • Tool Maker/Setter
  • Maintenance Engineer
  • Production Planner
  • Manufacturing Operator
  • Estimator

Our apprenticeships generally last 2 years and includes 1-2 release days to study at college and the remaining days of the working week on-site and Shop Floor to gain as many insights and learn as much as possible about sheet metal fabrications and supporting roles. Many of our previous apprentices continue with further education such as HND with brilliant opportunities to continue their careers in engineering. If you are interested in applying for an apprenticeship next year, keep an eye on our social media where we post new apprenticeship vacancies and deadlines in the summertime.
