Expanding Our Engineering Team

Engineering team

Jenks & Cattell Engineering, with a over 100 team members, is delighted to welcome three new colleagues this month. Their expertise and experience will significantly enhance our business.

To support the growth of the business, and new metal assembly projects within our Launch Management Engineering Team, we have created a new role: Head of Engineering. This role will support our current engineering managers, Paul Wilcox (Production Engineering Manager) and James Butler (NPI Engineering Manager).

Phil Hewitt

Phil Hewitt has joined us as the Head of Engineering. With seven years of experience in process improvement, estimating, NPI, and product development, Phil is eager to streamline processes, reduce project introduction times, and improve facilities and equipment. He believes Jenks & Cattell Engineering offers a great opportunity to upskill himself and develop those around him while acquiring new knowledge and skills.

Mark Thomas

Mark Thomas is another addition to our Engineering department, joining as Project Tooling Engineer. With approximately £20 million worth of press tools on site, our experienced Toolmakers maintain, refurbish, and fix these tools. Mark brings 25 years of experience as a Toolmaker and has transitioned to the commercial and management side of press-tools, making his expertise invaluable to our metal pressings manufacturing service. Mark is passionate about Toolmaking, a role identified with a skills gap nationwide. We are proud to have upskilled many Toolmaking apprentices, and our current apprentices will benefit greatly from Mark’s knowledge. Mark is enthusiastic about passing on his tooling knowledge to younger team members and watching their skills develop.

Martyn Williamson

With over a decade of engineering experience across various industries including automotive, aerospace, and medical, Martyn Williamson joins our Quality department as a Quality Engineer. Martyn is an expert in metrology, calibration, and QMS, skills that will benefit Jenks & Cattell Engineering. He is looking forward to contributing to our overall performance as a supplier and strengthening our customer relationships. Martyn sees this career change as an opportunity to further his knowledge in new industries and processes.

Welcome to the Jenks & Cattell Engineering team!
