World Mental Health Day, observed internationally on 10th October, is an initiative aimed at raising awareness about mental health issues and efforts to support mental wellbeing. At Jenks & Cattell Engineering Ltd, we recognise the importance of mental health and are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all our team.
The Importance of Mental Health
Mental health is a crucial aspect of our overall wellbeing, affecting how we think, feel, and act. It influences our ability to handle stress, relate to others, and make decisions. By prioritising mental health, we can improve our quality of life, enhance productivity, and create a more positive workplace culture.
We are dedicated to promoting mental health through various initiatives:
- Health Checks: All team members are offered an annual health check and hearing test, as we are aware physical health can have an impact on metal health
- Supportive Environment: We strive to create a workplace where employees feel valued, heard and supported. Open communication is encouraged, and people can strive to achieve their best potential with our various training programmes.
- Mental Health First Aid: Two of our team members are trained Mental Health First Aiders. Any team members have access to openly talk to Zoe and Paul about any issues to help find a solution.
- Socialising: It is important to have a network of people around you to boost mental health, and at Jenks & Cattell Engineering we strive to host quarterly social events for our team.
- Wellness Initiatives: We celebrate wellness and during our recent Safety & Wellbeing week, everyone was gifted fruit and a fruit smoothie.
- Visuals: Using our communications boards for everyone
Let’s celebrate World Mental Health Day by committing to a healthier, happier, and more resilient future for everyone at Jenks & Cattell Engineering Ltd.
