Jenks & Cattell Engineering have a strong focus on developing new and existing customers worldwide, with a number of our UK customers now requiring exporting demands and also international companies using British manufacturers as a key business move. This is an open opportunity for Jenks & Cattell as a British engineering company to increase international growth.
Following the UK’s decision to leave Europe, ‘The Manufacturer’ identified that “51% of UK engineering companies will use this to their advantage, and offer international companies to take advantage of the current sterling position”, which is highlighted within Jenks & Cattell’s strategy of international growth, as the business continues to invest in the factory, people and equipment in order to stay competitive throughout Brexit.
In the last 12 months, our exports have grown from 23% to 30%, where we have remained competitive in countries including Germany, Slovakia, France, Romania, Poland, South America & China, with all sheet metal goods manufactured from our Wolverhampton manufacturing site.
A number of these exports are for the off-highway and automotive industries, which follows a positive statement from the SMMT announcing a 2.5% growth on UK car sales from the previous year – this is a crucial highlight for Jenks & Cattell Engineering, with 63% of our total sales being automotive metal presswork and welded assemblies.
